More Than Just A Muse

MORE THAN A MUSE

ADEKUNLE P_PEN

I am ready to let it go

This strange god in me called muse

For I no longer want to worship a stammering deity

That lack words to express the passion burning my feelings

If pen can write the language of this feelings

It will be similar to one spoken in the land of undying love

My muse has lost the battle between reason and feelings

Words can’t express the desire to have you

Call it lust, crush, like or love, whichever. But

Permit me to flirt with the letters of my complex feelings

For the fragile emotion bonding my pen and my heart

Is beyond the scope of what my muse can express

YOHANNA

I love your lips when they are locked in a smile

I am breathless each time you swallow

I lose myself every time our skins touch.

My heart stretches a mile each time you laugh

To your radiance, the sun holds no candle

To your magic, the moon bows

Love is the easy gazes and the shared smiles

The blinding passion, the short spats

Love is the shared victories and pains

The frenzied moments, the fluttering of our hearts.

If music would tease your soul, I'll Rob a genie and wish me be a nightingale

If touches would warm your heart, I'll grow a million limbs

If treasures were your fantasy, I'll hurl down half the stars.

If Solitude would feed your soul, I'll give you an island

My heart could not hold what I felt

So I bared my soul.
